Samsung got nostalgic with its latest expected phone release. The phone maker has brought back the flip phone… again.

The company announced this week that it is rolling out the latest verison of its flip, foldable-screen smart phone, dubbed the Galaxy Z Flip3 5G.

The phone is available for pre order already and will go on sale on August 27th for a price tag of $999.

The Android-powered phone offers a slim design and durable body that should keep the flexible screen safe. The display is 80% stronger than prior generations of the foldable, and it’s water resistant.

The Z Flip3 is the follow-up to the Z Flip and Z Flip 5G. There was no Z Flip2.

The original Z Flip rolled out in 2020 with a price of $1,380. Many found the phone too risky to purchase at that price.

For the new version, Samsung also added a larger front-facing display. There had been a small 1.1-inch front screen found on the original Z Flip. The Flip3 has a 1.9-inch panel.

As far as the camera goes, the Z Flip3 gets the same kind of ultra-wide and wide-angle lenses found on the original Z Flip.

The newest version’s 6.7-inch screen now gets a 120Hz refresh rate. This means scrolling through apps may be smoother.

The phone additionally gets an 8-core processor, 8GB of RAM and your choice of 128GB or 256GB of storage.
