Tesla’s Elon Musk is Selling One of his Mansions to a Chinese Billionaire
According to a Wall Street Journal report citing public records, Elon Musk, the chief executive of electric vehicle maker Tesla, is selling one of his homes in Los Angeles to a Chinese billionaire for $29 million.
The WSJ reported this past Friday that the home in the Bel-Air area was being sold to a company tied to Chinese Billionaire William Ding, who is the founder and chief executive officer of NetEase Inc., an online gaming firm.
Musk’s property had been listed in early May for $30 million. He had purchased the house for $17 million in 2012 from Mitchell Julis, co-founder of hedge fund Canyon Capital Advisors, according to the WSJ report.
It was also in May that Musk had randomly tweeted, “I am selling almost all of my physical possessions. Will own no house.”
Musk still owns other properties in the area, the WSJ report said.
According to Architectural Digest, Musk has a total of seven homes on the market. Another home includes Gene Wilder’s former residence, a 20,000-square-foot mansion listed for $9.5 million.
