Nike Opens a New Flagship Store in NYC
Sport apparel retailer Nike has opened up a new flagship store in New York that has customized sneakers as well as digital shopping.
Dubbed “House of Innovation 000” the store combines traditional shopping with Nike’s digital app. Using the app, customers can scan QR codes on mannequins and apparel to see if their size is available and view available colors then send the items to a fitting room.
The 68,000 square store will hopefully change the way consumers shop for their favorite sneakers and apparel according to executives.
“We always ask ourselves how can a store be as personal, responsive, easy and fast as a mobile shopping experience…” remarked Heidi O’Neill, president of Nike Direct.
The store has no cash registers and consumers will be able to check out nearly anywhere in the store with an instant checkout feature.
“We are finding consumers just can’t get enough of customization experience,” said O’Neill.
