Former Microsoft CEO has Sold all of His Twitter Shares

Steve Ballmer, the former CEO of tech giant Microsoft, has sold all of his Twitter shares.

Ballmer told CNBC that he sold all of his shares as recently as the last high.

The former leader of Microsoft had a roughly 4% stake in the company at a little over $25 a share.

Ballmer remarked on CNBC’s “Halftime Report,” that “I don’t hold any of my Twitter shares anymore — except to the extent they are represented in index funds.”

It was on March 14th that Twitter shares closed at a high of $36.

“I sold really because I decided investing money is not my business,” Ballmer said. “I’m in index funds, I’m in Microsoft — it keeps my life simpler.”

“I think Twitter will succeed and it will move forward, but I simplified my life and I got out at a very nice price,” Ballmer explained.
