McDonald’s and Walt Disney Form Happy Meal Promotion Partnership

Posted on

In the first partnership in over a decade, McDonald’s USA and Walt Disney Co. announced on Tuesday a Happy Meal promotion partnership.

It was in 2006 that the two had ended their previous relationship when McDonald’s had decided to make its menu smaller for kids. That partnership was reportedly valued at $1 billion to Disney according to the Los Angeles Times. The Times had reported that the fast food giant paid Disney $100 million in royalties and conducted 11 promotions a year for Disney movies and TV shows. It also opened restaurants inside Disney theme parks.

The new agreement starts in June and will include promotions for Disney’s “Incredibles 2” movie and then “Ralph Breaks the Internet: Wreck-It Ralph 2” in the fall.

Both companies declined to comment on the duration or value of the new partnership.
