According to sources close to the situation, Softbank Group Corp. has purchased a $4 billion stake in graphics chip maker Nvidia Corp.

Softbank disclosed that it owns an unspecified amount of Nvidia stock when it announced $93 billion of commitments to the technology investment fund over the weekend.

The company was quietly able to collect this stake as its holding of 4.9% came in under the amount that’s required for regulatory disclosure in the U.S.

The 4.9% stake amounts to around $4 billion and makes Softbank now the fourth largest shareholder of Nvidia.

Softbank’s Msayoshi Son has said in the past that the company plans to be the biggest investor in technology in the next ten years and such an investment proves that the company is on the way.

Nvidia shares tripled in 2016 and are already up 28% this year.
