With more reasons to get drivers into green cars, Honda is doing their part to help the planet by introducing two more cars to its Clarity lineup.

The car manufacturer just unveiled two fuel cell vehicles at the 2017 New York International Auto Show in New York on Wednesday April 12th, 2017.

The Honda Clarity is the first hydrogen fuel cell car that the automaker introduced first this past December.

According to a Honda vice president, Steve Center, the company still sees hydrogen as the best long-term bet to balance environmental concerns with customers’ needs.

Honda has a big goal of making two-thirds of its vehicles sold globally electric by 2030.

On the way to this goal, Honda expects to sell a combined 75,000 Clarity models in the first four model years.

The three variant of the Clarity is being referred to as one of Honda’s most advanced creations. The company will offer plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions of the car.

The Clarity Plug-In Hybrid’s drivetrain has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor rated at 181 horsepower and 232 pound-feet of torque. With a 17kWh battery pack, it stores enough power to go up to 42 miles.

The Clarity can see a total driving range of over 330 miles when electricity and gasoline are combined. It returns an EPA-estimated 105 MPGe.

According to Steve Center, the full-electric version has an 80-mile range and can be recharged in three hours on a 240-volt outlet. It charges 80 percent in 30 minutes on a direct-current fast connection. It will primarily be aimed at commuters.

The Clarity Electric offers 161-horsepower and a 221-pound-feet electric motor with a 25.5-kWh battery pack that requires three hours to fully charge.
