Target Stores Are Going To Look A Lot Different Now

Retail chain Target just released some details on how the store may look pretty soon.

The company has a $7 billion investment into its business and and shoppers now have an idea how the money is being used.
Target’s first fully redesigned shop will be in Houston Texas this October. The store will include two separate entrances. One will be designed for shoppers in a hurry and one who aren’t.

The speed entrance will lead shoppers into Target’s redesigned grocery aisle that will also have grab-and-go items as well as wine, and beer. The self check out lanes will be near by as well as a counter for order online pick up. There will also be parking spots outside the entrance for shoppers who want their items delivered to their cars.

The other entrance will be for those who want to browse beauty and fashion.

Houston will set things off, but another 40 stores will be updated with certain features from the Houston located in October. The houston store is the starting design for the other 500 stores that Target plans to redesign in 2018 and 2019.

In the next three years, Target will renovate 600 stores. The company also plans to open another small store in Manhattan this October near Macy’s in Herald Square.

CEO Brian Cornell stated at the Shoptalk conference in Las Vegas “We need to create an environment that’s worthy of [shoppers’] time.”

“We’re going after market share right now,” Cornell said. “Herald Square I expect will be one of our best small format stores.”
