Rolls-Royce Just Debuted its First SUV

The Cullinan is luxury automaker Rolls-Royce’s first SUV with a $325,000 price tag.

The Bayerische Motoren Werke AG brand debuted the SUV this week.

It was named after the largest diamond ever discovered in this world and follows other luxury automakers who debuted their own SUVS not too long ago.

Bentley revealed its $200k Bentayga SUV last year, and Lamborghini just revealed its $200k Urus last month.

The Cullinan has a 6.75 liter, twin-turbo V12 Rolls-Royce engine that delivers 563bhp to the all-new, all-wheel drive, all-wheel steer system. The vehicle has a top speed of 155 miles per hour.

Giles Taylor, Rolls-Royce’s director of design told reporters, “At this point in the history of automotive design, SUVs have become homogenous and ubiquitous. The label SUV is now applied to anything with a two-box silhouette and the least suggestion of going off tarmac. [So] we envisioned an authentic, three-box, all-terrain, high-bodied car with a convention-challenging design and absolute capability that would satisfy the adventurous urges of our clients.”
