Tom Petty, the “Free Fallin” rocker, was found unconscious in his home on Sunday night by his wife.
The 66 year old had gone into full cardiac arrest according to TMZ. His wife, Dana York had called 911 after finding him not breathing.
After being rushed to UCLA Santa Monica Hospital, he was put on life support but then pulled off of it later after doctors found no brain activity.
Multiple reports revealed that the decision was made to pull him off of life support. The family has a do not resuscitate order on the singer.
Despite other reports indicating he had already died, the singer passed away on Monday according to CBS news.
The Hall of Fame musician rose to fame in the ’80s and the ’90s with his band Petty and the Heartbreakers.
