This Show Just Broke An Emmy Record

Game of Thrones may be in slumber right now until the next season, but the show was fully awake last night at the 2016 Emmys.

The HBO series walked away with 12 awards out of the 24 nominations it had including one for outstanding drama series. Nine of these awards were won at the Creative Art Emmys.

The show now has a total of 38 Emmys and beat the record that was set by the show Frasier which has 37.

What a way to make it rain considering that Game of Thrones recently announced that it would be pushing back its production schedule for its shortened seventh season. This means the premiere will be out of contention for the 2017 Emmy awards.

In total, the Emmy award winning show has received 110 nominations since its first episode.
