Rapist Kills Himself By Jumping Off Courthouse Balcony

Many who learned about the news of Robert Seman Jr. jumping to his death on Monday are more than likely thrilled at the outcome.

Seman Jr. was an Ohio man that was accused of raping 10-year old Corinne Gump and then setting a fire that killed her and her grandparents back in March of 2015.

According to WKBN reports, while walking with police after a pre-trial hearing, he ran away from the officers in the Mahoning County Courthouse and quickly jumped over a banister.

“I saw a deputy at the railing, and I saw this white object falling to the ground,” a reporter at the scene, Joe Gorman, told WKBN. “I knew what it was, and I just screamed.”

Seman Jr, wearing tan pants and a white shirt, is seen on video walking calmly but then suddenly bolting away from the officers and jumping over a banister.

The Associated Press reports that it was just one day before jury selection was going to start on his murder trial.
Sheriff Jerry Green, among others, were surprised at his suicide as he looked to be in “pretty good spirits.”

“He was talking about the future of his trial, and he just decided to jump.”

Lisa Cappitti, Gump’s stepmother, told the Youngstown Vindicator that the family doesn’t “know how to feel” as a result of Seman Jr.’s death.

“It’s sad,” she said. “There’s no justice at all.”

I believe his death in a way was justice. Someone that evil shouldn’t be around!
