50 Cent Claims He Never Had $7 Million Worth of Bitcoin

Curtis Jackson III, better known as 50 Cent in the rapper world, is now claiming he never had bitcoin.

It was in January that TMZ reported that the rapper had forgotten he had around 700 bitcoins. According to CNBC Make it, those 700 bitcoins would have had a value of around $7.8 million as they were given during a 2014 album sale.

Jackson is stating there is no money and that those bitcoins had been converted into money long ago. The rapper swore under penalty of perjury last week, filing documents related to his Chapter 11 bankruptcy in 2015, that he doesn’t own and “have not owned, either a bitcoin account or any bitcoins.”

The filing calls out the TMZ report and states that any bitcoins Jackson had received for the sale of the “Animal Ambition” album in 2014, were “contemporaneously” converted into dollars.

The filing states that a third party called Central Nervous, used BitPay to convert the bitcoin into any dollars before any profits could have reached the rapper’s company.

Had Jackson and his company held onto those bitcoins, it would be worth over $7 million today.
