Racism does exist, but it shouldn’t exist on Walmart.com.
The company has been in hot water after a wig cap was seen on the retailer’s website with a product description that was incredibly politically incorrect.
The racist term was in the color description and rather than just refet to the cap as brown, it was referred to as n-word brown.
The cap quickly went viral and Walmart removed the product. It wasn’t Walmart selling the cap but a third party vendor. Needless to say, the retailer needs to keep a better eye on what its third party vendors are doing.
The same cap is on Amazon.com but without the offensive color description.
A spokesperson for Walmart told Yahoo Beauty, “We are very sorry and appalled that this third-party seller listed their item with this description on our online marketplace. It is a clear violation of our policy, and has been removed, and we are investigating the seller to determine how this could have happened.”
