Verizon (NYSE: VZ) “Can You Hear Me Now?” Guy Switches To Sprint (NYSE: S)

One of the most famous catch phrases made popular by Verizon was, “Can you hear me now?” The actor with the horn-rimmed nerdy glasses delivered that question from the year 2002 all the way to 2009.

But Paul Marcarelli, the actor who became well known for his role with Verizon, is now a Sprint customer.

Marcarelli is gearing up to appear in TV spots for Sprint, the nation’s fourth largest wireless carrier. In the ads, he will be calling attention to how much Sprint’s network has improved.

“Hey, I’m Paul, and I used to ask `If you could hear me now with Verizon?’ Not anymore.”

The first TV spot will run Sunday night during the NBA finals.

Marcarelli did emphasize that although he is with Sprint now, “it’s 2016, and every network is great. In fact, Sprint’s reliability is now within 1% of Verizon.”
