To Work For This Guy You Better Learn To Code

Millennials have it hard enough as it is, but one CEO wants to make sure every millennial he hires, has to know how to do a certain thing; to code.

General Electric’s CEO Jeff Immelt wrote in a LinkedIn post on Thursday, “”If you are joining the company in your 20s, unlike when I joined, you’re going to learn to code. It doesn’t matter whether you are in sales, finance or operations. You may not end up being a programmer, but you will know how to code.”

“If you are joining the company in your 20s, unlike when I joined, you’re going to learn to code. It doesn’t matter whether you are in sales, finance or operations. You may not end up being a programmer, but you will know how to code,” he continued.

This is a part of Immelt’s plan to adopt a “startup-like mentality” at GE. He’s been chief since 2001.

GE is already more than 100 years old and employs about 300,000 workers.
