This Twitter (TWTR) Exec Quit By Sending A Tweet About It

Posted on

Kathy Chen has been Twitter Inc.’s executive to run Greater China for the last eight months, but that has come to an end now.

Chen sent out a tweet this past weekend that basically said she quits. She had been brought on board to get more Chinese advertisers. She previously worked at Microsoft and Cisco so obviously she had the experience.
“Now that the Twitter APAC team is working directly with Chinese advertisers, this is the right time for me to leave the company,” she wrote.

“Twitter grew its Greater China advertiser base nearly 400 percent over the past two years,” she wrote.
Twitter is now one of the firm’s fastest growing revenue markets in Asia Pacific (APAC).

The social media site has been blocked in China since 2009 but is still used through virtual private networks (VPN).
