Philadelphia Starbucks Manager who Called Cops on Two Black Men Has Left the Company

One of the biggest stories to make headlines over the weekend was the arrest of two black men in a Phildelphia Starbuck store.

The manager of the store had called the police over the two men who had been doing doing wrong. The arrest of the men erupted into protests and backlash with many saying they would boycott the coffee chain.

Starbucks’ CEO Kevin Johnson said to ABC News that what had happened was “completely inappropriate.” He has also said he wants to personally apologize to the two men who were arrested.

According to a company spokeswoman who spoke to CNBC, the manager who made the call to the police “is no longer at that store.”

A video of the arrest went viral over the weekend but the actual arrest had taken place last Thursday.

According to the woman who posted the video said that staff at the coffee shop had called police because the two men had not ordered anything while they waited for a friend to arrive.

The store employees had told the police when they arrived that the men were trespassing.

“Clearly, there’s an opportunity for us to provide clarity and in addition to that I’d say there’s training, more training that we’re going to do with our store managers, not only around the guidelines but training around unconscious bias,” said CEO Johnson.
