Bank of America Just Opened Branches Without Any Employees

With automation taking over more and more jobs, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Bank of America Corp has opened three completely automated branches over the past month.

Dean Athanasia, the co-head of Bank of America’s consumer banking unit, mentioned the branches briefly this week on Tuesday during a Q&A session at an investor conference.

Bank of America spokeswoman Anne Pace said that at these branches, customers are able to use ATMS and have video conferences with employees at other branches.

Pace said there is one completely automated branch in Minneapolis and one in Denver. The branches are a quarter of the size of a regular branch.
