Amazon announced big news this week that the company’s takeover of organic grocery chain Whole Foods will close on Monday.
Not only that but that the company’s first line of business is to lower prices.

“Whole Foods Market will offer lower prices starting Monday on a selection of best-selling grocery staples across its stores, with more to come,” the company said in a statement.

Items that will see price reductions next week include organic brown eggs, organic apples, organic salmon, organic rotisserie chicken, and organic avocados.

Amazon Prime members will also get more discounts at Whole Foods.

“Everybody should be able to eat Whole Foods Market quality — we will lower prices without compromising Whole Foods Market’s long-held commitment to the highest standards,” said CEO of Amazon Worldwide Consumer Jeff Wilke.

Also Whole Foods-brand products will now be available through Amazon.com and other Prime platforms.
