Amazon Plans To Release New Alexa Devices That Can Do Something Huge

Posted on

According to multiple sources, Amazon has some big things coming with Alexa.

The sources have revealed that the online retail giant plans to unveil one or even more new Alexa powered devices this year. The best part is that they can initiate calls by voice.

The sources have said the device, or maybe devices, will let users talk on the opposite end of an Alexa device through a feature that could serve as an intercom system.

Although an Amazon spokesperson has declined to comment, the sources say the announcement could come in the next months and that the new hardware was in beta testing inside of Amazon as of last month.

The Wall Street Journal had also reported recently Amazon and Google were considering adding phone call functionality to their voice assistant gadgets.

According to Recode, Amazon will be doing it but details are not yet clear.

It’s also been rumored that Amazon’s Alexa will get some eyes, via a camera.

AFTVNews has discovered an image on Amazon.com of a device that looks like Amazon’s Echo but with a camera.

Could this device soon be for home security like Nest Cam? Or maybe it could be a new desktop webcam.

A lot of questions are left unanswered so hopefully Amazon will be making some announcements soon.
