Amazon (AMZN) Just Made This Promise To Employees

Posted on

Amazon told Geekwire’s Taylor Soper and Todd Bishop that the company is planning to overhaul a part of their employee review process which forces managers to rank employees against each other.

The review process was dubbed “stack ranking” or “rank and yank” and instead of rating employees on how they meet their job, it ranked them on how they did against each other.

A spokesperson for Amazon confirmed the change to Business Insider and said, “We’re launching a new annual review process next year that is radically simplified and focuses on our employees’ strengths, not the absence of weaknesses. We will continue to iterate and build on the program based on what we learn from our employees.”
