Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk Wants to Help the Migrant Kids Separated from Their Parents

If only every big powerful CEO stood up to some of the stuff coming out of Washington D.C.

Elon Musk, the leader of electric vehicle maker Tesla, has tweeted this week that if he could help the kids, he would.

He tweeted, “I couldn’t even keep the US in the Paris Accord, but if there is some way for me to help these kids I will do so.”

By the “kids,” hes referring to the thousands of migrant children who have been taken from their parents at the U.S. border because of the “zero tolerance” policy that President Trump and his administration have on illegal border crossings.

It was on Tuesday that Musk had tweeted, “I hope the kids are ok.”

Another user, @somospostpc, had replied to Musk and asked, “Could you just make a more powerful statement? It’s a heartbreaking issue and your words and actions could matter more than a tweet.”

That’s when Musk said he would do something if he could.

The ACLU currently has a petition with nearly 160,000 signatures asking the Secretary of Homeland Security to “Stop separating children from their parents in immigration detention. This practice is inhumane, unnecessary, and unconstitutional.”

Musk is one of the top donors to the ACLU.
