At least two are dead, in what looks like a terrorist attack, in the country of Sweden.

According to Swedish authorities, a truck plowed into a crowded street on Friday in the city of Stockholm.

Prime Minister Stefan Lofven described the incident as a “terror attack” and has said that “the government is doing everything in its power to find out what has happened.”

In a televised statement, he said, “We are advising the public to be careful and to listen to police broadcasts. According to security police, there are at least two dead in this awful terrorist attack. We are thinking of the victims and their families and the injured.”

Police reports revealed that a Spendrups brewery truck drove over people on Drottninggatan Street in central Stockholm. The police said several people were wounded.

Rose-Marie Hertzman, the press officer at Spendstrups, confirmed to ABC News that the truck was stolen from them.

“We can confirm that the truck was stolen during an unload of products,” said Herzman. “The driver was just finishing the unload and a man came running up and hijacked the car and drove away.”

Hertzman added, “Our driver is not hurt and we are of course extremely sad to hear about the injuries and the two people confirmed dead.”

According to Hertzman, the truck was distributing soft drinks, beer and water to restaurants and shops.

The identity of the attack has not yet been confirmed.

Swedish intelligence officials are working to identify the person or persons. The head of Sweden’s security police, Anders Thorngren, said they had already prepared for a similar incident. “Earlier this week we rehearsed a similar scenario. Säpo focuses on the intelligence work and who could behind this.”
