Netflix could be about to present the world with a new Star Wars series, but only if a petition for it is successful.
It all starts with Slashfilm.com who has called on fans of a Star-Wars related game called Knights of the Eternal Throne, pus a movie trailer made from it called “Star Wars: The Old Republic,” to petition Netflix to turn “The Old Republic” into a series.
The petition reads: “It’s no surprise to anyone that the Star Wars franchise has experienced a massive resurgence lately, with The Force Awakens released last year and this year with the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. However, it’s about time that the stories from over 3,000 years before the Battle of Yavin be told to both new and old fans of the franchise.”
“The Old Republic era is a pivotal point in the Star Wars timeline because that’s where everything changed, from the Jedi Civil War and the fall of Revan, the First Jedi Purge, and an omnipresent darkness that not only watched the chaos from afar but also kick-started the downfall. Our fanbase would love to see this on Netflix, and I feel that you would enjoy creating and adapting these stories as much as we would enjoy watching them.”
Hopefully Netflix agrees with the petition.
