Microsoft will be releasing a new version of its Windows 10 operating system in early 2017, where 3D features will be big in the new update for everyone.

At a demo event in New York on Wednesday, Microsoft demonstrated some of the 3D features that Windows 10 apps are going to see in the new system, dubbed Windows 10 Creators Update.

Users will be able to grab and insert 3D images from apps which they can dynamically move all around the PowerPoint page. Paint will now be called Paint 3D and users can capture 3D scans of real-world objects with their smart phones and import them onto the computer.

Microsoft also announced that it’s working with HP, Dell, Lenovo, ASUS and Acer to create virtual reality headsets that can detect six degrees of movement. The advantage here is the cost at $300, a lot lower than other crop headsets on the market now.

Gamers may be very excited to know that Microsoft’s new update will also have 4k video capabilities for gaming and movies, if you have a 4-k compatible graphics card and a TV or monitor.
