Last Texts To His Mother: “He has us, and he’s in here with us.”

Some of the last words a mother ever wants to read from her child are, “I’m gonna die.” Unfortunately these are the exact words Mina Justice has left to look at on her phone, which were sent to her via text from her son Eddie Justice who died in the Orlando Pulse shooting.

Eddie had initially texted her at 2:06am early Sunday morning with, “Mommy I love you,” but it was shortly followed up texts informing her that there was a shooter in the club and that she should call police. His last words to her while hiding in a bathroom with other clubgoers were, “He’s coming, I’m gonna die.”

This was the last conversation that Mina had with her son that morning. The city of Orlando had confirmed that her son was one of the shooting victims.

The shooting at Pulse, “Orlando’s premier gay night club,” has been described by officials as a domestic terrorism incident and is the deadliest attack on U.S. soil since 9/11.

At least 50 people are dead, including the shooter, and 53 others are injured, according to authorities.

Investigators have identified the shooter as Omar Mateen of St. Lucie County, Florida. Mateen is a U.S.-born citizen with Afghan parents.

Mateen exchanged gun fire with a police officer working at the nightclub outside the building at 2:02 a.m. He then walked inside and opened fire. Officials said he was carrying an assault rifle, a handgun, and “some kind of device on him.”

Many other mothers may have received similar texts that night while waiting for the status of their children.

Mother Christine Leinonen told ABC News’ George Stephanopoulos in an emotional on-air interview, “They said there’s a lot of dead bodies in the club and that it’s a crime scene … so it could be hours and hours before we find out. The hospital said there are some bodies at the hospital that came in and they died and they’re not identifiable yet either.”

She later told ABC News she received confirmation that her son was among the dead.
