Jeff Bezos Just Made His Biggest Sale Yet

Jeff Bezos is on his way to possibly become the world’s first trillionaire and out ranking Bill Gates as the richest man in the world.

He made a big sale of Amazon stock this week that was his biggest yet. According to an SEC filing, Bezos sold 1 million shares of Amazon in the last three days, totaling $940.74 million.

The sale was disclosed on Thursday and it was part of Bezos’ scheduled sale that he makes on a regular basis. Bezos also made two big sales last year in August and earlier in May. Those sales made him about $1.4 billion.

The fact that Amazon has seen such gains the way it has this year is why this single sale was his biggest. So far Amazon shares have climbed 25% this year and even closed at a record this week.

This sale is also the first sale that Bezos has made since he told an audience at the U.S. Space Symposium back in April that he wants to sell “about $1 billion of Amazon stock a year.” His goal is to be able to fund his company Blue Origin, that is focused on space exploration.
