This is why Everybody is Talking about Tide Pods Right Now

In the last few weeks, the “Tide Pod Challenge” has been getting a lot of attention on social media.

In fact, every six seconds its being mentioned on social media according to tech company LikeFolio.

In a challenge that has most people reacting with shock, the challenge challenges teenagers to swallow the detergent pods.

Needless to say the parent company of Tide, Procter & Gamble isn’t too thrilled with the kind of press Tide pods are getting.

In an effort to shut the challenge down, the company has New England Patriot star Rob Gronkowski in an ad telling people that Tide pods are not for eating.

A spokesperson for the company also at one point told CNBC it is working with social networks to remove harmful content. It is also working with the American Cleaning Institute to provide information to college students.

The company stated, “Nothing is more important to us than the safety of people who use our products. We are deeply concerned about the intentional and improper use of liquid laundry packs by young people engaging in intentional self-harm challenges.”
